Where Have All the People Gone

Coney Island in the Winter
I happened to travel to New York City yesterday and I am always looking for trails or places to walk and explore and believe it or not, found a nice quiet one in of all places New York City. To be more exact, Brooklyn (Coney Island).
I took these pics on a sunday afternoon after a snowstorm and yet the boardwalk was covered with snow and impassable, but the beach was wonderfully deserted and in perfect condition to explore the coast.
It's hard to believe that there are over 8.4 million people a few miles away, but you could never tell that by being at the beach. yes it was cold, but manageable and so very peaceful and tranquil with the white noise of the surf pounding away and allowing you to surrender to the tranquility.

My only regret is that I did not have my hiking buddy with me. I can just imagine Baily chasing the waves and the seagulls. Maybe next time.

The Bailey Diet

Who needs the Scarsdale diet of the Carb diet or the Pickle Diet when you have the Bailey Diet.Try as I might watching my boyish figure I was fighting a losing battle until I discovered the Bailey Diet. This involves hitting the rail to trails in the area with my new found trining partnet, Bailey. He is a walking fool, and you know what they say about a fool and his weigtht are soon parted, well anyway you get the idea. Since Bailey has come into my life I have dropped 35 pounds and the summer is just coming into view.
Back to nature, exercise and the love of a good dog. Can't beat it with a stick. Don't forget about his older sister Casey, 14 years old and still going strong. She is even getting outside on the trails herself. She is amazing for her age, jumping, hiking, putting her little brother into his place.

Newest Member of the Baird Household

Welome Bailey, our newest lapdog. He's a 60 pound German Short Haired Pointer puppy. We rescued him from a local shelter and he has instantly found love. He loves to walk and run and has had the unique ability to get Jeff off his butt and out for walks, so everyone is grateful.

See if you can tell who is the better singer.
